Professional Learning for the NYS Seal of Biliteracy

2024-25 NYSSB Professional Learning Series

The Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages (OBEWL) of the Ⱥ½»Porn (Ⱥ½»Porn) will soon be unveiling itsÌý2024-25 NYSSB Professional Learning Series.Ìý These webinars, focused on the New York State Seal of Biliteracy, are offeredÌýfree of chargeÌýfor educators, counselors, and administrators working and studying in New York State educational institutions.ÌýÌýAll NYSSB webinars take place from 3:30-4:30 p.m. via Zoom.ÌýÌýRegistration is required for attendance and CTLE certificates.Ìý All webinars are recorded for on-demand viewing and CTLE credit can be granted for viewing the webinar with a score of at least 7 out of 10 on the post assessment.ÌýÌý

The 2024-25 NYSSB Book Study on Promoting Multilingualism in Schools:Ìý A Framework for Implementing the Seal of Biliteracy

The Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages (OBEWL) of the Ⱥ½»Porn (Ⱥ½»Porn) is proud to present the 2024-25 NYSSB Book Study on Promoting Multilingualism in Schools: A Framework for Implementing the Seal of Biliteracy by Drs. Kristin Davin and Amy Heineke. The book study is being facilitated by the authors.Ìý Time is provided for small group processing and application of new ideas to school contexts.Ìý ÌýAll book study meetings are conducted via Zoom from 4:00-5:30 pm EST.Ìý The dates of the book study are September 25th, October 23rd, November 20th, December 18th, January 29th, February 26th, March 26th, April 30th, and May 21st.Ìý Participants must commit at the time of registration to attending in full a minimum of 8 of the 9 meetings.Ìý Participants may earn up to 27 hours of CTLE credit (1.5 hours for each of 9 meetings and 13.5 hours for reading the book and preparing for meetings). The book was distributed to all participants, free of charge.Ìý There is no cost to participate in this book study.Ìý We have reached our maximum capacity and are no longer accepting registration for this book study.Ìý Please check this site in the spring of 2025 for information on 2025-26 book studies.
